Dear colleagues,

Thank you very much for your on-site participation registration for the EGU General Assembly 2022 in Vienna, Austria. Please take five minutes to carefully read the important information below.

Name badge pickup & EGU Hygiene Plan

Name badge pickup will be open on Sunday, 22 May, 12:00–19:00, Monday 07:30–18:00, Tuesday to Thursday 08:00–18:00, and Friday 08:00–12:00. We encourage all participants to pick up their name badge on Sunday to avoid longer queues and waiting times during the regular conference days, in particular on Monday morning.

To comply with the EGU Hygiene Plan, name badge pickup will proceed as follows this year:

  1. You will find the counters for the name badge pickup in Hall X5 on the forecourt of the Austria Center Vienna (left from the main entrance);
  2. Before receiving their name badge, all participants’ vaccination or recovery status will be checked according to the 2G rule. Please have your certificate(s), and ID card or passport ready;
  3. Once your vaccination or recovery status is approved to comply with the 2G rule, you will be given a bracelet as proof of your status;
  4. Please provide your Copernicus Office user ID to the conference assistant, your name badge will be printed containing also your local transportation ticket (valid from Monday to Friday);
  5. For entrance to the conference centre, both the name badge and the bracelet will be checked.

Travelling to the Austria Center Vienna (ACV)

Please be aware that the metro station "Kaisermühlen-VIC" of the metro line U1 will be closed due to construction works when coming from the city centre during the entire conference duration. The station is open for journeys to the city centre. Coming from the city centre, you may exit at the station "Donauinsel". The Austria Center Vienna will be within walking distance. Alternatively, you can change trains at the station "Kagran" and take the metro back towards the city, to exit at "Kaisermühlen-VIC".

Session access & upload of presentation files

All registered on-site participants will also be able to join sessions virtually. However, please be aware that accessing Zoom sessions from the conference network will not be possible, in order not to overload the Wifi in the conference centre. We ask for your understanding.

Sessions can be virtually accessed via the online programme. Please note that the respective "Enter Zoom Meeting" button will only appear approx. 15 min before the start of the session. Alternatively, sessions can be accessed from the virtual conference centre on the landing page.

All presenters are kindly reminded to upload their live presentation file at least 24 hours before their session starts. Due to the special organization needed to stream all sessions in hybrid format, please note that it will not be possible to use your own computer for the on-site presentation.

Contact authors are requested to check their abstract information regarding the presentation form. Please indicate if the abstract will be presented in person or virtually. This information is essential for a smooth running of the session.

Discounts on access to the Natural History Museum Vienna

All participants may take advantage of the special discount to visit the Natural History Museum Vienna (NHM) . The NHM kindly offers all participants a special discount of 50% on the entrance fee by showing their conference name badge when buying a ticket. This discount is valid from 23–27 May 2022; please note that the museum is closed on Tuesdays.
